Helping Hands

Helping Hands was begun in the Tri-County area in 1991 to show Christian love by ministering to and providing food to those less fortunate in our community. In our opinion, an active relationship with God, through faith in Jesus the Christ, is an essential part of a truly successful life. Because of this, we encourage you to attend one of our supporting churches. Please feel free to call the Pastor of your choice if you would like to talk before you visit. If you like, a special Helping Hands staff member would be happy to have the pastor of your choice call and or visit with you in your own home, but please understand that this is not a requirement for service.

EXCITING NEWS!!

Helping Hands of Howard City was awarded a Feeding America Capacity Grant in the amount of $27,000 with the anticipation that we would also contribute about $3,000 to the project. With those funds, we will be reworking our client exit to allow better flow and easier maneuverability with shopping carts. We will also be installing automatic door openers to help anyone who enters or exits our building. This work is expected to begin in mid-September and be completed within 30 days.

Helping Hands only accepts donations of food items during normal pantry hours.
Please do not leave any household items, clothing, etc. as we are not equipped
to store and distribute these items. Thank you.

We are looking for people willing to pick up food at Feeding American and Meijer one or more times a month. If you have a truck/trailer and are willing to help us help our community, please fill out a volunteer app and we'll be in touch.
